where can i get a cheap, wooden rabbit hutch and should i get 1 rabbit or 2?

do you know if rabbits are heaps socialable or not, i have a dog which it can play with or wateva
dont worry my dog is a retard, i have a budgie and she lets it bite her nails and her wiskers and doesnt do anything, sometimes when she gets tired of the bird she will get up and walk away she is so sweet, i love her… do you rekon the bunny would like the budgie and visa versa
anyway i live in Australia in nsw so dont tell me about hutches in america or sumfin unless i can buy it off e-bay or other sites like that!!

The more you play with a rabbit the more social it will be. Personally I have 2 rabbits and I think it is perfect because they can play together and since I work I feel like they have each other for company while I am away. I got them when they were 6 weeks old so I didn’t know that one was a girl and the other a boy so if you get more than one you have to keep that in mind. I had 2 seperate cages for them once I found out their sexes but my father in law put them together one night and 4 weeks later we had a litter of 7 babies (only 2 made it) but it was enough for us to get the boy neutered. Neutering them is actually good for them though so you may want to do that even if you only get one. As for the hutch, try your local pet stores (people sometimes put ads up selling them). Or you can go to craigslist.org (I believe they are everywhere). Another option is to make your own; it’s really not that difficult. I made my bunnies a 5ft x 8ft room out of wood and they love it. It’s more than enough room for them to roam and play and keeps them safe from the rest of the house.
As for the bunny and budgie getting along I couldn’t say but as I have a cat and she’s cool with them I wouldn’t think the budgie would be a problem. Good luck.
