help with feeding wild birds?

OK I buy the expensive $20 bird food that no birds came. Now I buy the cheap $6 bird food and I have 20 BIRDS at the bird feeder, 3 squirrels on the floor eating what ever drops! I have to fill it up 2 times a day. Its hard to keep up with them. I also have a bird bath so usually 3 birds a chillen in their. I have a trampoline and we saw two birds chillen their (it was hilarious!!) I am the only one in my area who feeds them. I also give them bread and bird suet for the birds. I was thinking of buying Chipmunk food as well.

I use Wagner Deluxe Blend so it attracts all birds. It was the cheapest at Home Depot so I decided to try it!

Your $6 food probably has a mixture of seeds and dried fruit that the $20 bag didn’t. You should keep feeding and bathing areas clean and hygenic, to prevent diseases and infection spreading. Better feeding mixtures contain plenty of flaked maize, sunflower seeds, and peanut granules.

However, don’t hang food out in mesh bags as this traps birds by their legs and beaks whilst feeding, and can be very dangerous. Now the birds see your garden as a food source, don’t one day just stop putting food out because they will use valuble energy just to travel to your garden to find that the once reliable food source is no longer there, and cannot replace that energy.
