Is it ok to feed wild birds lard?
I have been feeding the birds in my garden this year but its gettign expensive. The little fat balls i buy are like £2 for 6 balls. These last only 1 day and they are gone.
I was wondering if it would be ok to buy a block of lard and put it on my bird table. The lard costs only 25p for a big block. i also put peanuts and wild bird seed out and a little bit of bread from time to time.
Lard won’t harm the wildbirds. I’ve mixed some with peanut butter, which makes peanut butter easier for the wildbirds to eat. You can make bird feed blocks to feed the birds with lard, peanuts, and wildbird mix. I’ll give you the link to a recipe:

The wildbirds in your area should enjoy all this good food. Happy New Year!
