Do I need a license to sell birds?
All my parakeets live in an outdoor aviary and they have breed over 20 parakeets for the last 8 months.I wanted to sell these birds to someone that is willing to take care of them really well and give them a lot of attention.These parakeets are about 2-5 months old and they are very friendly,super tame,and smart.I play with each one for 10 minutes a day and I spend around 2 hours a day playing with all of them.I was planning to sell them but I was wondering do I need a license to sell the birds? Or do I just sell them? If I need a license where can I get it,what age do I have to be,and does it cost money?
P.S-I am 15 years old.
I am not really in for money I just wanted to give them a good home and a loving owner.
As far as I know, you dont need a licence to sell budgies.
They are quite common, and not protected.
Because they are natives of Australia, and they really aren’t worth very much (when compared to other larger parrots) there isn’t a problem with bird smugglers, etc- so I cant see why you would need a licence to sell them anywhere.
It might be worth your while looking into joining a budgie club in your area. They are all over the world, and if you are interested in breeding and maybe even showing your budgies- they would be able to provide you with some great information.
