Rare water willow found in Westford’s Stony Brook
An exciting, rare native plant has recently been discovered in Westford. Swamp Loosestrife or Water Willow, Decodon verticillatus, is growing in Stony Brook. In July, I was fortunate to be on a botanizing trip with several other volunteers from the New England Wildflower Society. We were looking for a different rare plant near the Stone Arch Bridge area.
