Ideas to get mom to let have rabbit?
Any ideas? I want one soooo bad! Any cage designs of hutches that have runs connected to them would help alot! Also if you have any links for litter training that would help because in the winter I will move them in to their indoor cage and she said they have to be potty trained!!! Any helpful rabbit care websites would be helpful too!!! Also my mom knows I can take care of it, but she says we have 2 many pets! All we have is a 18 year old cat, a parakeet, and a hamster! But we are getting 2 free birds, + 2 bunnies is 7 pets!! But so what!!! Help!!!
You already have a cat, a parakeet, and a hamster. You’re getting two free birds. On top of this you want two rabbits? My goodness, how will you ever have time for all of these pets? Pets require a lot of work and rabbits are no exception. Are you helping to care for he pets you already have? Do you really have enough free time to take good care of seven animals? Did you know that rabbits can live for ten years or longer? Are you willing to make a commitment for that amount of time?
If the two birds are definitely coming, I would wait until the birds arrive and get settled in before asking about a rabbit. You may find that five pets plus school and other activities is more tha enough for you. Show your mom that you’re responsible by making sure the animals you already have are well cared for. Keep up with your other responsibilities to. Read up on rabbits so you really know what you’re getting yourself into. I’ve provided a link to a site about rabbit care. You may want to think about keeping your rabbit inside year round. That will make litterbox training easier and help to keep your rabbit safe. Did you know that rabbits can die of fright from just seeing a predator, even if the animal can’t actually get at them?
Believe it or not, there are lots of rabbits abandoned in shelters (or worse, abandoned in the wild) every year because people get bored with them or don’t realize how much care they require. Please do your homework and make sure that your rabbit never ends up homeless.
