How do I make homemade suet for birds?

You can melt down lard or use bacon grease. When you have it in it’s liquified form, put it in a small square tupperware container to use as a mold. Then pour in some mixed bird seed for wild birds. Make sure you put enough in so that there is hardly any space between the seeds and the greese. Put it in the freezer overnight to set. Then in the morning, when it has thawed a bit and you can get it out of the container, just take some medium gauge wire and wrap it aroung like ribbon on a christmas present and hang it in your yard.

You can also make different “flavors” for the birdies like stirring in a half jar of suger free preserves in with the bacon grease. I like Raspberry.
