I’m asking help identifying a bird by its song?
What bird is it that has a song that sounds exactly like a construction worker whistling at a girl? (You’ve heard that particular whistle that guys do. It’s been put into cartoons, television commercials, etc.) It slides up in pitch and then drops back down.
Is that a mockingbird? There always seems to be one around when I hear it. (And no, no one is whistling at me.) LOL!
(A wild bird isn’t a pet, but I couldn’t find another category, such as wildlife, so I put it here.)
Your description of the call or whistling sounds like a Red Bird, “Cardinal”. It is the male that makes this call. Mocking birds sometime copy this call, why unknown. The call is a mating call by the male.
