can i still compete with herpes type 1 in mma?

hi, ive just been diagnosed with herpes type 1. i’m pretty sure i got it from some one at my gym, cuz my girlfriend doesnt have it, and she’s the only bird i’ve been with. i dont have any out breaks at the moment but before i hang up my gloves, i wanted to know if u can still compete. i’d think it be immoral/illogical but since it’s so easily transmitted, and since soo many people have it it’s so easy for anyone to pick it up in a gym like i did unfortunately. i dont know much about herpes (type 1 or type 2) which is why im asking. please shed some light on this before i decide to quit altogether.

You’d have to check the regulations of the Athletic Commission where you are going to compete. Most organizations will still allow you to train and compete as long as you do not have an outbreak.
