How can I stop the birds from eating my dog’s food?

My dog stays outside and I keep his food dish filled all the time, but lately we have been having a LOT of trouble with the birds eating it all. I don’t want to limit his food because he is used to having access to it all the time and he doesn’t overeat. I have tried to get him to chase the birds away, but he will actually lay there on the patio and watch them eat every piece of his food! We have also tried hanging a bunch of CD’s from the patio cover, but that birds aren’t scared by that. We’ve also tried putting the food in his house but the birds march right in and eat it. Has anyone had similar experiences and what did you do that worked? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

If you have an adult dog, and he/she doesn’t finish all the food you give him/her in 15 minutes, you are feeding too much. Feed the same food only once a day and only what the dog will clean up in 15 minutes.
