Birds Building Nest On Window – Bugs to Come?

I have a clear bird feeder on my kitchen window. But now they’re building a nest in there. We have newer windows, but I’m afraid of Mites, Lice whatever getting in through any unknown cracks in the window seal. Is that a real concern? I’ve never had a nest so close to the house. Thanks!

If the birds have not started laying eggs yet, move the nest. However, if there is even one egg present, you are stuck with it.

In the US, all native migratory birds are protected under federal law (Migratory Bird Treaty Act). It is illegal for anyone to possess a protected bird, its nest, its eggs or even its feathers unless they have the required federal and state licenses. It is also illegal to disturb an active nest. Penalties for violating this law include up to $500 and/or up to 6 months in jail for each offense.
