How do you keep bumble bees away from your bird bath ?

I refill our ceramic bird bath every morning. There is about 6 bumble bees on the rim.It makes me nervous when I fill the bowl.

I would start by scrubbing the bowl and rim, in case there is necter or honeydew or some substance there that they’re attracted to.

If they still come, perhaps they’re just thirsty. Bumbles are not aggressive.
