Bugs in bird seed?

I buy the bulk bags of bird seed from Home Depot. I have talked to them, but no one could answer my question.
What are the weevil-like bugs that I see in the bird seed and how do I get rid of them?

There are many, many types of beetles that infect the bulk bird seed along with different species of mites, moths and other insects. Once a food is contaminated, there is nothing you can do to get rid of most of these bugs.

Many people are told to freeze the bird seed but not only does that NOT kill many of these species, it depletes the nutrients in the food.

The food you are getting from Home Depot probably isn’t really good food for the birds in the first place (which can lead to malnutrition), so consider switching to a different, cleaner store. You can also buy in smaller quantities which will help reduce the store time of the food. Once you get it home, store it in an airtight container and as long as it has not already been contaminated, it will not get contaminated.

When you look at a bag of food, look for dust on the bottom of the package (inside). if you see a bunch of saw dust looking stuff in the bag, it has bugs in it. Do not buy it!

Good luck and i hope this helped.
