What type of bird do you think this is?

I live in Albuquerque, NM and I saw a very interesting bird in a local field the other day. The field was flooded. The bird was about the size of a large seagull, but had very long narrow legs. It looked black but had a reddish green tint on it’s back/wings. It’s beak was very long and narrow and hooked down.
