Is it possible that my bird misses his companion?

I had two zebra finches, london and kelly. Well, london died a little over a month ago, and since then kelly’s behavior has change.
He spends most of the day eating, and he hasn’t bathed since londons death.
They would always bathe together. Sometimes twice a day.
He also doesn’t pick up any materials for the nest anymore.
Do you think my bird is sad over the loss of his friend?
Do you think getting another zebra finch would perk him up a little?

He is sad and mourning. Most people seem to disregard that animals do have feelings too. Another finch could perk him up but could also scare him because he get territorial or something along those lines. Depends on the sex and whatnot. I think everything should be okay and they can adjust together to each other.
