Non suet/Non geletin bird cake recipe?

I am looking to make heart shaped bird cakes for a party favor, but I have not been able to find a non-suet, non-geletin recipe. I saw in one listing that many bird web sites may have them, but I have yet to come across one.

I can’t remember what bird magazine this is from, but I remember the basic steps for making this bird treat & have used it many times.

Take bird seed, mix it with peanut butter (creamy or chunky), add 1/2 inch chunks of apple, and any dried fruit. Form into balls (or whatever shape), put on a wax paper covered cookie sheet and freeze until hard.
