Where can I find free sound effects on line in WAV format?

My High school is doing the play into the woods and I am in charge of running the sound effects and mic board. In years past we have gotten the effects cd with the script but our dirctor decided to save money this year and did not purchuse it. Im looking for alot of sounds like birds, cows and magical sounds but any place with a wide selcetion of sounds would be awsome cause I need quite a few diffrent effects. If any one could help that would much apprecaited.

I work in a library and we have a lot of sound effects on CD. Almost every animal, especially birds because we have all the animal ID books on my floor, and a lot of car/plane/army truck noises, but that’s just on my floor. I’m sure there are more elsewhere. Go check it out. You COULD even make a copy of the CD if you’ll need it for longer than a city library will allow. Maybe your school library could borrow one.
