In the game “Hidden Mysteries: Titanic” how do you get past the puzzle that involves the bird with the nest?

I am playing the Nintendo DS version, and I have come to a puzzle that involves a bird and a nest, any ideas?

you have to get a bamboo stick that is from the cafe. and you take to the bird. at the cafe you take a spoon and salt and take to the galley and take a boiled egg. then you have both a boiled egg and bird on the nest, and watch what happens
