should i really get 2 lovebirds?
i want one lovebird…but is it necessary that if i get one i should get another for it to play with? I was thinking about getting one and just giving it alot of toys and rotating one every 2 weeks and putting a mirror in the cage when i go to school and then playing with him when i come home for a few hours. I’m also getting it a playpen to exercise on…so i hope it will have a very busy life and wont need a friend
but if it’s completely necessary to get 2 birds….will i have 2 get double the food, waterers, and toys (ect)….and what if they have a fight? will i need 2 cages and 2 carriers? and what if i get a male and female accidentally and they mate and im stuck with loads of baby birds….then what will happen?

Love birds really do better as a pair, but there is no rule that you HAVE to have two.
Are you wanting to handle it a lot? If so get one. Sounds as if you have given this some pretty good thoughts and have done your research.
Your ideas on toys and mirrors is a good one. But when you are gone and the house is quiet, try getting one of those nature sound Cd’s. They have bird and other animal and nature sounds on them and our birds loved them.

If you do get two birds you can use the same cage and carrier, also, if you do not provide a nesting box, don’t worry about them mating, it usually does not happen.
