Ribbon Bird origami…..?

I saw the most beautiful birds last night at the Chinese place made of ribbons woven together, folded and taped – it was breath taking almost.

Not quite sure what you are talking about…. A picture would be very helpful. From your description I think they just wove some ribbon into squares and glued them and folded them. Here’s sone instructions on weaving and origami birds…
