Life of red mites?

I treated my flock of birds for red mites 2 months ago. They had 2 ivermectin treatments 2 weeks apart and I replaced everything in the room they were in, cages,toys supplies, etc. Today I saw 2 mites climbing on my wall. I was told by the vet if there is no bird available for them to bite, they will just go into hibernation. My question is does anyone know how long they actually live? I am hoping the few I found are just a few stray ones. I have not seen them in the birds cages thank god. I thought I had done a good cleaning job, but I guess I misssed a few. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

You can use 7 dust found the feed store in the lower %age bag. Make sure you put it in the cracks of your floors and anywhere your birds can’t get to. And buy some of those cage guard cans found at the pet stores buy the large ones and hang them all over your birds cages. Cover your birds at night time for a few weeks to asure the cage guards have a chance to work properly. The air will fill with mite killer without ever hurting your birds. Those 2 things will fix your problems for years.
