Bipolar I or II? I’m not sure which one I have?

My psychiatrist and psychologist both suggest that I may have bipolar, but I’m wondering which type can it be? I was put on risperidone, an antipsychotic for paranoia and delusions. I read that type I is for mania and type II is for hypomania. I think that I’ve been hypomanic before, but I’m not sure about mania. When I was 14 I did used to think that I was a prophet and that I could talk to birds. I although thought that I could control the weather. As of now because of my atheism, I just think sometimes that people are plotting to murder me (so basically, extreme paranoia) and I thought my family was going to murder me with a knife. What else… I think that sometimes that an outside force is controlling my thoughts and I think people can read my mind (this is only sometimes). I don’t hear voices or see things so I am not schizophrenic. What do you think? The antipsychotic has caused all of this to go away.

Any bipolar disorder severe enough to involve psychosis – which is what the paranoia and grandiose thinking are – is by default bipolar I.
