What are Some Good Toys for Pet Mice?

I just adopted 2 aorable little pet mice from the humane society this past week, they are both boys, liter matges, and have lived together since birth. I have had pet mice in years past, but alwways in an aquarium, and one at a time. These cuties came in their own Habitrail.

They have a wheel & a tower, and a raised feeding platform. I have put a toilet paper roll in under the feeding platform, and today, when I cleaned their cage out, I put several sticks in, arranged so they are braced against the walls- they are both LOVING these, climbing all over them, wwhich is TOO cute to see!

Is there anything else I could put in there that they might enjoy? I thought about getting some sort of wooden bird toy to hang from the top.

Also, any suggestions for special treats? I am feeding lab blocks and a tropical seed/nut blend. They love a bit of uncooked oatmeal or a piece of cereal. Oddly, they weren’t thrilled with apples or peanut butter.

Any suggestions are welcome! :-)

I’ve had tons of mice in the past, and 1 thing they all loved to do was climb.
Buy some bird ladders and strap it on the roof, so they can climb upside down, and on the sides.
Do you have any plastic tubes? Usually mouse cages have holes to hook up these tubes into, and you can design them to go in loops and anyway you want. They can be a bit tough to clean, though. Petsmart has them.

For treats, cooked oatmeal is good as well. They love that in the morning. They LOVE grapes. Cheese is actually not good for them, as it’s a bit fatty. The occasional peanut is good, as well.

Good for you for adopting! Have fun with the little guys!
