Blue tit bird eggs…HELP?

Hi, we have a bird box in our garden, two blue tits made a nest and laid their eggs,
for some reason now both of them havent come back for about two weeks or so and the eggs are left?
should i take them in and put them in cotton wool or some straw?
how do i know if their alive? could i hatch them myself?
whats the best thing to do?

can you catch diseases/infections etc from touching the eggs? Some of them had broke and their goo and stuff went onto my gloves when i was having a look to investigate them? you cant get anything can you?

The eggs may have been infertile and that is why they left. If the eggs have sat for more than about 30 minutes of so without being incubated, they are dead whether or not they were fertile. You cannot do anything to make them hatch, let them be. No, there is nothing you can catch from handling birds eggs!
