CAt h3lp. im in need of some serious cat help please!!!!!!?
i have this issue . im getting a new cat but im afraid she going to cause me alot of issues. first of all my family just got new furniture and im afraid the kitty might get urges. secong of all we have really expensive curtains and bedspreads and tablecloths that the kitty might just want to climb onto and enjoy takin naps and what not. not getting a kitty is not an option,ive been waiting really long for one and a bird is not really a good companion for me. what should i do? i know declawing is definately not an option( i believe it to be inhumane to a cat) so what should i do? P.S i also have a hamster and a parrot(please feel free to call me an idiot if i decide to bring my kitty home)
put the expensive things away for a few years until the kitten grows up. if you MUST have them out, then constantly watch the kitten and discipline it if need be. Cats aren’t stupid (although with mine that could be argued), and they do learn what they are and aren’t supposed to do, but it takes time. I’d say the best thing to do would be get some cheaper curtains etc for now, and get a protector sheet for your sofa if they start to scratch

If he/she does start to scratch, just move them to their scratch post and let them use that. It takes time but does work
