can lovebirds be housed in a wooden aviary?
I’m looking to build an outdoor aviary for my lovebirds. I intend to use steel panels for insulation on three sides. If I use wood for the frame will the lovebirds chew it to death? If not, what kind of wood should I use that would be suitable? Should I use steel posts instead? (I would anyway, but that requires welding and I lack the tools for that). What size mesh should I use that will stop the birds getting stuck, but also from escaping (they have pretty strong beaks)? Does anyone have an idea for an approximate cost for a 3m long 2m high and 1m deep aviary made from wood, or from steel? Would it be cheaper to just buy one?
Thanks heaps
I heard that the wooden cage is not good for birds coz’ it’s difficult to clean and so birds get sick pretty easily. The steel one, I think, will be more appropriate for birds.
