Can anyone answer a few questions about sparrows?

Like how many eggs do they have– how long do they live– is it the same sparrows in my bird house again this year??? or any other facts you”d like to share? Also do cardinals or bluejays live in bird houses??? Thanks

“Sparrows” encompasses a lot of species. E-nature.com lists over 50 species of “sparrow” in North America. You can check them out here: http://www.enature.com/fieldguides/view_default.asp?curGroupID=1&allSpecies=&searchText=sparrow&GroupID=&cmdSubmit.x=9&cmdSubmit.y=12

No birds “live” in birdhouses. Some species nest in birdhouses. Think of the birdhouse as a nursery, not a bedroom or a home. The parent birds make a nest in the birdhouse, lay their eggs, raise their chicks, then move out or lay another clutch of eggs and start the process all over again. Neither cardinals nor blue jays nest in birdhouses. Only cavity nesters will use a birdhouse or nestbox.

“More than two dozen North American birds will nest in bird houses.
